about

Union Street Preservation Society's debut EP!

Union Street Preservation Society is the complete roots string band experience. Influenced by bluegrass pickers, country swingers, blues crooners and pre-war jazz, the group's runaway-train instrumentals and spirited vocal harmonies offer a taste of early phonographs served in tight arrangements of contemporary songs.

USPS shows are electric. Recent highlights include a series of co-bills with legendary American roots mandolinist Andy Statman, shows with nationally prominent acts Greensky Bluegrass, Cornmeal and Max Creek, performances at the CMJ Music Festival, regular appearances at New York City's most prominent venues, and benefits for many of New York's non-profit organizations.

Hailed by Glide Magazine as “tasty and alive” with “brisk, flavorful improvisation,” USPS is getting increasing attention. The band was nominated for Artist of the Month by NYC's Deli Magazine in August 2011 after releasing its inaugural EP "Spring to Rust." USPS has since begun touring the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and beyond.
